So I said, ‘Forget this. I’m done. I’m doing it myself’. I was just so frustrated. We’re talking about a hemp product. Let’s be real. This is CBD oil. CBD oil! It’s not a product high in THC. And yet, I couldn’t find it to give to my daughter. I was constantly begging people out in areas where it’s legal to find what they could and give it to us. Like some ‘Mommy Network.’ And it just got to the point where I was the one who needed this for my child, so I realized either I do it myself or sit back and be taken advantage of.”

How Is This SC Mom Legally Selling Strain of Medical Marijuana?

Non-psychoactive CBD oil maintains the remedial cannabidiol benefits, which makes it ideal to use with children. Janel used CBD oil for her daughter Harmony’s seizures. When she kept running out of options to find it (most parents go to the black market), and her daughter regressed without it, she became determined to legally become a producer. There are also companies selling fake or low-quality options as she would discover.

Meet Spencer, a 3-Year-Old Boy Killed because of People “Just Doing their Jobs”

Vonzell began to look at alternative treatments such as cannabis. What she found, was nothing short of amazing.

“Within two weeks he could sit up on his own, he could scoot again and within a month he could start using his hands (again), and his speech took off,” she said. “Literally, I went into the neurosurgeon’s office and he said the tumor in the pineal region was pretty much gone — and it was a big tumor.”

Vonzell was receiving donated medical cannabis from medical marijuana grower, James Benno. Benno was experimenting with different strains to find which ones showed the most potential and donating the medicine to the family. They were dialing in Spencer’s treatment and it was really showing promise.

In May of 2014, however, Benno’s medical grow operation was raided by state agents who callously lay waste to the rights of others by kidnapping, caging, and killing people for choosing to ingest a plant.

30 of the Best Parents in Literature

Talk about free-range parenting. When Sam Gribley gets tired of living in his large family’s overcrowded New York apartment, he does what any self-sufficient 12-year-old would do: Teaches himself wilderness survival from a book he found in the public library and sells magazine subscriptions until he can afford a bus ticket to the Catskills, where he plans to live off the land at his family’s abandoned farm. And his dad lets him. No, really. But what could have become a tale of terrible parental irresponsibility is, in fact, a story of one boy’s self-reliance and passion for nature and the parent who trusted him enough to let him dive off the grid. In the end, Dad Gribley, inspired by Sam, decides that living in the city is no place for a family and moves the entire brood up to the abandoned farm. Fresh air for all!

(One of my FAVORITE books of all time. )
