Lottery worker who was in charge of security found guilty after he rigged the system for his numbers to come up and win the $14 million jackpot 

  • Eddie Raymond Tipton, 52, of Norwalk, Iowa was found guilty of fraud for illegally playing the lottery
  • Tipton was the director of information security for the lottery
  • The Iowa lottery worker used an intricate hack to ensure his numbers were drawn by the system 
  • He then tampered with security cameras so he would not be caught installing the program he used to have his numbers drawn 
  • Police became suspicious after the winner of the jackpot waited until the last moment to claim their prize and would not reveal their identity
  • He now faced ten years in jail
